The Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to lead complex builds across Regina and Southern Saskatchewan, from early preconstruction through commissioning and warranty. You will own schedule, cost, scope, quality, and safety outcomes while partnering closely with site superintendents, trade partners, consultants, and owners. This is a high-impact role for a builder who thrives on turning drawings into durable, well-executed projects and who brings the rigor needed to deliver on time and on budget.
You will set the tone for execution excellence—driving planning discipline, risk mitigation, and proactive communication. With work spanning commercial, institutional, and light industrial construction, you’ll navigate CCDC contracts, multi-season logistics, and municipal approvals in the Regina market, ensuring seamless coordination with local authorities and utilities. Your leadership will elevate project performance, strengthen client relationships, and develop a culture of safety and continuous improvement on every site.
What You'll Do
- Lead full project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout, including budgets, schedules, procurement, quality, and safety.
- Develop and maintain the master schedule (MS Project/Primavera) and 3-week look-aheads with the Superintendent; track critical path and recovery plans.
- Build, manage, and forecast project budgets and cash flow; prepare owner progress claims; administer statutory holdbacks and lien releases.
- Issue RFPs, analyze bids, negotiate, award, and administer subcontracts and POs in alignment with CCDC contract requirements.
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change management; price and negotiate change orders and ensure timely approvals.
- Chair OAC and site coordination meetings; publish agendas, minutes, and action logs; maintain transparent communication with stakeholders.
- Drive safety culture in accordance with Saskatchewan OHS regulations and COR program; support site audits and corrective actions.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and quality control; manage deficiency lists, turnover documentation, and O&M manuals.
- Maintain accurate project documentation in Procore (or similar), including drawing control, addenda, ASIs, and daily reporting oversight.
- Identify and mitigate project risks; lead value engineering and constructability reviews with designers and trades.
What You Bring
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in GC/CM construction, including 2+ years as a Project Manager delivering commercial, institutional, or light industrial projects.
- Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural/Building Sciences, or related field.
- Proven track record managing schedules, budgets, procurement, change orders, and risk on projects typically ranging from $5M–$50M.
- Strong knowledge of CCDC contract forms, tendering, and procurement practices used in Saskatchewan.
- Proficiency with Procore (or similar), MS Project or Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and advanced Excel; fluent in reading drawings/specifications.
- Demonstrated leadership partnering with Superintendents and field teams; excellent client-facing communication and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of Saskatchewan OHS regulations; COR familiarity; WHMIS and First Aid certifications are assets.
- Experience planning and executing work in prairie winters (e.g., cold-weather concreting, temporary heat/enclosure, seasonal logistics).
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites in Regina and surrounding areas.
- PMP and/or Gold Seal Certification (GSC) considered strong assets; LEED GA/AP an asset.
What's In It For You
- Competitive base salary with performance bonus program.
- Extended health, dental, and vision coverage, plus life and disability insurance.
- RRSP matching with employer contributions.
- Vehicle allowance or company truck with fuel card, plus paid mileage where applicable.
- Company-provided smartphone and laptop, with reimbursed business expenses.
- Generous paid time off, including vacation and statutory holidays.
- Professional development support, including fees for PMP/GSC and industry training.
